YouTuber Jackie K. Cooper shares his experience with the SXSW Audience-Award winning film.

The storyline is unique in the way it puts focus on the transgender society and show the problems that this woman has in her life.

The YouTuber comments on the uniqueness of the film's subject matter in that you don’t see many films created to showcase the transgender plight, the immigrant plight or a combination of the two. He commends the film on its accurate portrayal of these cultures that are normally not showcased in the mainstream and are often overlooked.

You see this aspect of the world that this woman lives in, what her goals are, how she’s trying to live her life as she wishes … and you see the reaction of other people to her.

The casting of the film is another refreshing element Cooper notices. All of the transgender characters are played by transgender actors and all of the Latino characters are played by Latino actors; giving all the character a more genuine and realistic appeal.

You can tell that a lot of care went into casting this film so that it was very believable and understandable.

The Garden Left Behind gives an insight into the life of a woman belonging to a culture often ignored by the larger society; Cooper rates this film a 6/10.
