Chris Stuckmann Reviews Godzilla vs. Kong

In the highly anticipated Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), Kong and his people are on a journey to locate his true home, but soon find themselves in the path of an angry Godzilla resulting in an epic confrontational battle of the powerful titans. Directed by Adam Wingard, the film stars Millie Bobbie Brown, Alexander Skarsgård, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Rebecca Hall, Eiza González and Brian Tyree Henry to name a few. YouTuber Chris Stuckmann shares his thoughts on the film now playing in select theaters and available on HBO Max streaming service.

I really had a good time with Godzilla vs. Kong because it basically gives you exactly what you want. It doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s a very tightly paced movie in that it’s the shortest so far in this most recent series of Godzilla and King Kong films. The movie doesn’t waste too much time with things that you might not necessarily care about and it doesn’t have a grand aspiration towards really anything else than entertaining the hell out of you.

If you’re a fan of Godzilla and Kong, this film will not disappoint, according to the YouTuber, who describes the film as exciting and fun with truly stunning special effects. It’s a movie that delivers exactly what you would expect: amazing battle sequences between the two titans Godzilla and Kong.

The YouTuber also notes the way the story is written in which the character of Kong is an integral part of the story instead of just a monster who shows up here and there to wreak havoc, is a welcomed change to the genre. Most of the human characters are quite uninteresting and have very simple character outlines, according to Stuckmann, who actually doesn’t mind all that much as the pure entertainment of the film as a whole outweighed the lackluster human character stories.
