The Mitchells vs The Machines is Funny and Oozing with Heart

In the animated film The Mitchells vs The Machines (2021), the Mitchell family must pull together to try and defeat the colonizing robots from taking over the planet. Directed by Michael Rianda, the film stars Maya Rudolph, Danny McBride, Michael Rianda, Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre and Olivia Coleman. YouTuber Brandon from his channel BrandoCritic shares his thoughts on the family film now available on Netflix.

This movie just looks gorgeous. There’s a ton of stuff going on. The colors are bright and vibrant. The movement and the animation just flows just superbly. And the pacing of the animation really works for the humor.

If you like The Lego Movie (2014) or Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), you will love this film, says YouTuber Brandon. The brightly colored animation, the amount of humor; some of which feels a bit forced, and the great usage of character development for all the members of the Mitchell family make for a great film, according to the YouTuber.

The fact that the film is also able to establish the villains aka the machines, and why they are doing what they are doing, creates such a well-rounded storyline and really gives more depth to the characters and their actions, says Brandon.

The YouTuber describes the film as a well told movie, with joke setups and payoffs and a whole lot of heart.
