Austin Burke Reviews Inheritance

When a wealthy patriarch of a powerful family suddenly dies, his wife and daughter are left with shocking secrets that could destroy their lives, in the film Inheritance (2020). Directed by Vaughn Stein, the film stars Lily Collins, Simon Pegg, Chase Crawford, Connie Nielson and Patrick Warburton. YouTuber Austin Burke shares his review on the thriller drama now available on streaming platforms.

Pegg’s performance is just so much more than what this movie ended up giving me. He went full on. Now there was a wig. A wig that didn’t look that great at the beginning of the film. But if you can look past that, you can see what he brought to this role and he really was trying.

Not very impressed with the film overall, YouTuber Burke admits Simon Pegg’s performance in the film is what saved it from falling completely flat. His biggest complaint about the film is in the technicality of the filmmaking. The YouTuber says the film is “so jumpy and poorly edited and literally the first scene we’re going from place to place to place and it didn’t feel cohesive.”

And while Simon Pegg’s performance is great, the performance from Lily Collins isn’t the best, says the YouTuber. There isn’t enough emotion and character depth and development, according to Burke who finds her character to be quite one dimensional.

With a super predictable ending and a storyline that is poorly executed, the YouTuber rates the film a 4/10.
