More tributes are pouring in by YouTubers as everyone wakes up to the tragic news of the passing of Chadwick Boseman. Austin Burke provides his perspective on what Boseman's Black Panther role meant for the many fans of Marvel movies:
Obviously Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (is) an icon for the youth every where, black or white, what the character of Black Panther was able to give young kids a superhero to look up to and say I look like that, I can be like that one day.
YouTuber Jeremy from channel Geeks + Gamers takes a timeout from his regular criticism of Hollywood and the industry to pay his respects to Boseman. He especially admires the way Boseman was able to do all the work he did since his diagnosis in 2016 but yet keep it a secret from the public.
(Boseman) was absolutely a fucking fighter. That is so respectable that he did what he needed to do and he stayed true to it and never leaned on anything other than he wanted to bring entertainment to people and tried to fight through this and that is so goddamn respectable.
YouTubers The Reel Rejects also share their shock of the news and reflect back on another interview where Boseman painfully speaks about two terminally ill children who were so excited for the release of Black Panther.
Throughout our filming I was communicating with (the two children) knowing that they were both (terminally ill) and what they said to me is … they're just trying to hold on until this movie (Black Panther) comes.
The man (Boseman) has brought me to tears off of certain interviews that he's had … he's demonstrated himself to be a very compassionate and passionate human being as well.
We'll be following more tributes as they come in over the weekend on the late Chadwick Boseman.
