3C Films Reviews Hubie Halloween

In the spirit of Halloween fun, Netflix’s latest collaboration with Adam Sandler: Hubie Halloween (2020) follows good hearted Hubie, played by Adam Sandler, as he tries to solve a string of mysterious disappearances plaguing his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween. Produced, written and starring Adam Sandler, other notable cast members include Julie Bowen, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, Steve Buscemi, Maya Rudolph, Kenan Thompson, Tim Meadows and George Wallace, just to name a few. Chris from the channel 3C Films shares his thoughts on the latest addition to the Adam Sandler comedy universe.

I think the biggest problem with these Adam Sandler Netflix movies and why they never reach the entertainment or quality level of the past Adam Sandler films that he used to make, is just because they have so embraced the cartoonish silly side, that they forget that we still want to follow a storyline and characters we enjoy.

Though a big fan of Adam Sandler and his movies, YouTuber Chris is left feeling disappointed by the latest collection of Netflix and Adam Sandler collaboration films and Hubie Halloween is no different. One issue he has with the film is the main storyline is riddled with too many different subplots that barely connect with each other by the end of the film.

There was just so much going on that the movie just starts feeling like a series of skits that were very convoluted and only made for the purpose to make Adam Sandler scream like a buffoon and be made fun of.

There are a few aspects of the film that are genuinely funny and make him chuckle out loud, says Chris, who loves the idea of the all in everything “swiss army” thermos Hubie carries around. But ultimately, the YouTuber only recommends this film, if you are already a fan of Adam Sandler comedy films.

I really tried my hardest to just end up liking this film and while there is some enjoyment out of it, I just can’t bring myself to say it’s a good movie because it’s not.

Hubie Halloween is now streaming on Netflix. YouTuber Chris from the channel 3C Films, rates and reviews movies and TV shows on his channel regularly.
